There’s a famous picture of me from high school laying on the beach with the sunblock drizzled on me saying, “I do not exercise”. With the exception of ballet until my teens, I never exercised and never believed in it. Then, the 30’s hit and my clothes started becoming “snug”.
Fast forward to 2014-my upcoming wedding. I knew that I needed a change and it had to be the type of fitness I would and could do. I wanted to be fit and feel beautiful on my big day. I found NJFF by driving by the Bloomfield location on a weekly basis and decided to stop in-and I am incredibly glad I did.
Having been a member since April, I am in better shape now than when I was in high school. I have lost weight, gained muscle, and have dropped about 2 dress sizes. I feel stronger, sleep better, and look forward to going to NJFF everyday. With the help of the suggested nutrition guide, I am eating better-not dieting, but eating the right foods to help me become healthier and continue my weight loss.
At first, like everyone trying something new, I was hesitant and nervous. What if I was unable to keep up? What if the exercises were too hard? But after the first class I knew this was a place and a process I could commit to. The trainers are encouraging without being patronizing. The members are friendly and supportive.
Each class had modification options offered as a way to still exercise but at my level of fitness. The classes are varied, challenging, and work all the muscle groups. The #1 reason I have continued to come to class 6 days a week; never the same routine and after 45 minutes of sweating, I have completed a thorough total body workout. If you had asked me in April if I could 1/2 the exercises I can complete now, I would never have believed you. It was with the positive support of trainers like Ryan and Nick that have pushed me to continually challenge my personal best.
If you are thinking about trying a new fitness regime or like me said, “I have to do something”, try NJFF. I promise you will not regret it!
